The Year in Knitting (and Crocheting, and Weaving, and Crafting…):
2013 Projects

Favourite project:
Has to be the Rook scarves. First I made this one for Grandma, and I liked it so much that I made a Rainbow Rook for myself. All the posts about the Rooks can be found here, and a Rainbow Rook image large enough for desktop wallpaper (4000 x 3000) can be found here.

Least Favourite project:
Not that I really didn’t like them, but the New Traveling Socks gave me no end of trouble. I took to calling them the Thrice-Fouled Socks. I mean, it’s my fault, really. I put the heel on the wrong side. Then I knit it over the wrong number of stitches. Basically, this sock spent a lot of the year in time-out, because I didn’t want to look at it.

Patterns Published:
None. But I have some in mind, and one in progress!

Last Year’s Resolutions and Plans:
– spin more
– knit something with handspun yarn
– design and publish two new patterns
– finish Napramach and the Stripy Socks
– cast on for fancy cabled knee socks
– use up more yarn and fibre than I purchase
– get some stock in the Etsy shop

Well. I did spin a lot more! And I did use up more fibre than I acquired! And, though it wasn’t on the list, I did a lot of crocheting, which was pretty awesome. But I didn’t knit anything with handspun, I didn’t design any new patterns, I… well. Yeah. Here’s to next year!

Plans for 2014:

Everything I didn’t get to do this past year!

– spin even more
– knit something with handspun yarn
– design and publish two new patterns
– finish Napramach and the Stripy Socks
– cast on for fancy cabled knee socks
– use up more yarn and fibre than I purchase
– get some stock in the Etsy shop
– and, of course, post to the blog more regularly…
