Highwayman Armwarmers
I was asked to design “manly black armwarmers” to wear while riding a motorcycle - something to close the gap between the leather jacket and gloves. Cables were the first thing that came to mind. He liked them so much that I made a pair for myself as well! These are just the thing for scenic motorcycle rides in the country - or blustery fall days in the city. Made of 100% wool, they are warm without being too bulky, and fit tightly to help keep the wind out.
SIZE: S [L] (shown in size S)
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: To fit an arm that's 6 [7.5] inches around at widest point of forearm. Negative ease is included in the pattern.
YARN: Patricia Roberts Lambswool [100% lambswool; 50g/168 yards;] charcoal gray; 1 skein or Filatura Di Crosa Zarina Extrafine Merino [100% merino; 50g/181 yards;] colour 1490: blue; 1 skein or any other sport-DK weight yarn to get gauge.

Brilliant! I've worn my wrist warmers on MY softtail, but my husband has scoffed at them as being too girly. These will be very popular at the VFW Warriors meetings! Thank you so much for making the pattern available, and specifying freedom to sell them (because if you make them out of something nice and soft (and let's face it, these manly men like soft stuff) they are sort of pricey to _give_ to a good-sized group. I'll make sure to give credit to Knitting Pirate for the design on the 'don't throw this in the washing machine when you spill coffee on it' tag. :)
I've just bookmarked this post in Delicious, thanks.
I have made two pair of these and blogged the second pair at http://purlbuttonsblog.blogspot.com/2012/12/122612.html. They are ENORMOUSLY SATISFYING to make. If I can find the post for the first pair, I will let you know. I am significantly late in responding but I was getting ready to steer a friend to your great pattern and I realized I had never let you know how grateful I am for just the perfect project.
